I understand what you are saying. But my point is this: supposing Clinton is guilty of infidelity, but he hypothetically managed to "cover it up" better and the story about his alleged affair with Monica had never surfaced...there would not have been any effect on his ability to govern. As a result, no one would have been the wiser. Therefore, suggesting that an affair between the President and anyone else impairs the man from being an effective Chief Executive, is false. The only reason this matters today, is because of the media circus and some politicians with a grudge against the President are fanning the flames. If the rumors had never appeared, nothing would have changed.

Only if he can be proven to have committed perjury, should this be pursued.
