Geoff, the unserved market I refer to is the estimated 4 bil people who have never made a phone call due to a complete lack of infrastructure in thier various regions. Granted, many of these regions are not the wealthiest spots on the globe but one would hope thier governments will want to assist in establishing some type of phone service in those regions. China, India, Africa are examples. One star for me in G*'s bus plan is the 200,000 projected Chinese subscribers. That is a very small percentage of China's unserved market. The same conservative projections apply to thier other target markets too. Other unserved markets include central Canada and even no. central US where there is no cell coverage. These folks are getting tired of driving miles to make a phone call.

And Maurice, I also never felt I* would dominate the upper segment. I just felt they would barely penetrate below that. It looks like that is the case and the upper segment is must thiner than we all thought. I must admit, that does cast a sobering shadow over my enthusiasm. However, I remember when I was looking at these 3 or 4 years ago, I always wondered how I* expected to make it with a high cost structure and inferior technology (TDMA). I have not been impressed with the call quality in the few calls in which I have participated and apparently I am not alone. I believe Jack Morgan has the most experience with the calls and has posted that his experience for the most part has been good.

Welecome to the board, Geoff. I have been enjoying your posts and look forward to more.
