Mr. Paul Pitman reports

AURA SILVER TAVICHE PROJECT ADJOINS AND SURROUNDS SAN JOSE SILVER-GOLD DEPOSIT, MEXICO

Aura Silver Resources Inc. is releasing an update on its Taviche property that surrounds the San Jose silver-gold deposit owned by Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. and Continuum Resources. Fortuna recently announced new National Instrument 43-101-qualified resource estimates on the San Jose property (Trinidad zone) including an indicated mineral resource of 1.47 million tonnes grading 262.6 grams per tonne silver and 2.19 grams per tonne gold containing 17.7 million silver-equivalent ounces, and an inferred mineral resource of 3.9 million tonnes grading 260.6 grams per tonne silver and 2.57 grams per tonne gold containing 49.1 million silver-equivalent ounces (Fortuna used a cut-off grade of 150 grams per tonne silver and metal prices of $10.30 (U.S.) per ounce silver and $525 (U.S.) per ounce gold). San Jose is a high-grade epithermal silver-gold system comprising a number of bonanza-style, high-grade veins that are open along strike and to depth.

The Taviche property comprises two concessions totalling 13,724 hectares that are held by Intrepid Mines Ltd. and Aura Silver under option from Plata Panamericana SA de CV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pan American Silver Corp. Drilling along Fortuna's northern boundary indicates that the on-strike, down plunge extension potential for the San Jose vein system may lie on the West Taviche concession.

Taviche is the flagship project for Aura Silver. "We are excited with the potential that this property offers for discovery of the extension of San Jose high-grade silver-gold veins onto our West Taviche concession," said Paul Pitman, president of Aura. "As noted in our Jan. 17, 2007, press release, an aggressive field program has already been initiated. Detailed sampling and mapping on the Western Concession have commenced to better define drill targets along the vein systems where old workings indicate past production. Permitting for a drill program by midyear is under way."
