Yes - Palmyra was a cool site. But Petra in Jordan is better.It actually hailed when we were going to Palmyra which is about 3-4 hour ride from Damascus. It was amazing cause this area is desert and unexpected at this time of year.

There are alot of Christians - Greek Orthodox, Maronite Catholic - Alot of Armenians too. Only about 5% of the Muslims are real devout (pray 5 times daily, etc)
