At one time I thought Novell's conservative earnings guidance was just to protect them from future legal action but now I firmly believe that they were not being conservative at all. Their business is really that bad. And to compound the problems of their failed business model, they acquire a company that's losing money and has problems galore. The good old boys sure stick together, don't they? Stock should close below five dollars today. What would make the day complete is if it were Friday the 13th instead of Tuesday. Novell should have been looking for a company to buy them instead of a company to buy. Deep under water and looking for an exit strategy.
