Good morning, Joseph G., I hope you had a pleasant sleep and are well rested.
i) I picked Dell as an example, to compare and contrast with, say, Amazon.com, and express no opinion as to the value OR price of Dell. The reason I picked Dell is that Dell has been, and likely will continue to be, a very profitable company, and so Dell shareholders are at least getting known earnings per share which will likely continue to increase. Last time I checked, Amazon.com still had not turned a profit. I could have picked other companies, and maybe I should have.
ii) I don't really believe you don't know the answer to (ii). I think you are just being cantankerous. In my opinion, an expert is someone who knows more than is general knowledge about a subject. Over the years, I have developed an ear for what I call "the ring of truth," a tone or timbre of the voice, that indicates that the speaker is telling the truth. You know it when you hear it, or see it. Like Joe Pesci's girlfriend in "My Cousin Vinnie", the one who knew everything about cars.
Very truly yours,
CobaltBlue
