Larry,
Before I go name dropping again, I spoke to my father again last night. He informed me that he did not know if the guy stated he was Hanscombe of not. He simply told my father, sometime in April, basically this:
"I cannot tell you what to do with your stock and I am sorry you had problems with Dean Witter, but if I were you I would hold unto it for a few months and see what happens. If nothing happens than sell it."
My father basically told him to shoot from the hip and quit with the mumbo jumbo, to which Hanscombe (?) replied:
"We are working on a possible merger".
I know it could all be hype, but this is what the man said, this is what he said boss. (O.K., just a little Bugs Bunny humor here.)
My dad's basic logic is goes something like this:
Q: Dad, why go after a company the has over 600 million in outstanding shares?
A: Son, CORE has over 700 million outstanding shares. i don't think they care.
Q: Dad, O.K. then what about no product or sales or manufacturing.
A: Son, don't you think these guys are talking to the people who own the rights, lawsuit guys etc. and explaing that they will get more $$ for all the shares they have been paid over the years, and royalties, if this deal goes through.
Q: Dad, what makes you think it is our company (as if I own it outright...)
A: Son, CORE is based out of Irvine CA., right next door to Comparator (Newport Beach - in a storage facility, right?) :-)
Q: O.K. Dad, what if it is not Comparator.
A: then ride it until the SEC steps in.
Look, he believes, and it makes sense, that either 1 of 2 will happen:
1) Comparator will make the deal and the announcement and we will all make $$.
2) No announcement is made and the SEC will step in again, but if you are smart, not until each of us has made a little $$.
I would like to know where these AOL people are getting thier info. As for me, I will ride 'till I cans ride no more. By the way Larry, your e-mail address does not work for me anymore. Plaease e-mail it to me again. This week should give us a hint as to what is happening. Hey ...I have a question...where is Steelhouse?
