Actually, going green is making alot of people alot of money and is creating millions of jobs.

It's just like the older folks who didn't like technology and the PC revolution, because they worried it might cost millions of jobs due to all the automation. What we found instead is that it created massive new wealth that was re-invested and created far more jobs than it cost.

The same thing will happen with clean fuels and technology. It's a wonderful new opportunity for any investor or worker looking for a new field of employment.

As far as taxes, every dollar you spend on gas acts exactly like a tax. In fact, since most of that wealth goes to countries in the Middle East, we're being taxed by a foreign government. So the first question is wouldn't you rather be taxed by your own government? And if you don't want to be taxed at all, then wouldn't you want to get our people independent of oil as soon as possible?

As far as a plastic death trap, that is old-style Detroit hype. New cars made with nano-tech and carbon fibers has proven to be stronger and lighter than steel.

As far as living in a cave, just wait to see what will happen if the world starts having water wars or continues to fight wars over oil as supply dwindles. That will virtually ensure we bankrupt this country and all of our standards of living will go down. I'd rather we get smart and get off the oil, as well as address climate change, so we can continue to live well, instead of regress into cave-dwelling.
