How Is John Kerry Still In This Contest?

By David Allen Jared
Oct. 8, 2004

John Kerry's record of "achievement" in his public life is so uninspiring, his recorded behavior so bad, one is left to wonder how he's even IN this race. As more and more comes out about his attitudes, both past and present, his behavior (such as siding with our enemies as opposed to siding with the U.S.), it remains a wonder that he can pull 10% support--let alone the 40+% he seems to be enjoying. One is left to assume that much of his "support" isn't support at all, but deep-engrained antipathy from the left for President Bush to the point where, in their little minds, ANYONE is acceptable instead of President Bush. It makes one wonder if these people would vote for Angela Davis, for example, if she were the Democrat's candidate.

It's a matter of record, for example, that even after the first World Trade Center bombings, Kerry missed every single one of the subsequent intelligence committee meetings for an entire year! Yet, he would have us believe that he's anti-terrorist and capable of directing the intelligence agencies as President. If he won't pay any attention to what's being reported to his own committee in the Senate, why should ANYONE believe that he'll pay any closer attention as President? To make matters worse, over the next 11 years, he missed over 3/4ths of the meetings of that same committee. His campaign was so clueless about this that they tried to foist off on the American public that he'd "chaired" that committee and was a regular attendee--mixing up THEIR candidate with the record of now ex-Senator Bob Kerrey! Amazing!

Senator John Kerry, as a young, Lt(jg) naval officer, met secretly with representatives of the NVA and VC in Paris and returned to the U.S. to campaign AGAINST the interests of the United States; advocating for the communists' positions in the ongoing peace talks, instead of for the U.S.'s positions. He sided with the communists again when he offered up that highly-tainted and suspect "testimony" before the Fulbright Committee which essentially accused American soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines of widespread, daily atrocities against the Vietnamese people with the knowledge and consent of their commanders all the way up the chain of command. Now, understand that I'm NOT saying that he should have taken the position of supporting a war effort with which he philosophically disagreed--only that he should NEVER have let himself be used by the communists who were subverting our efforts to keep part of Vietnam free; a subversion with which he took an active role by telling outright lies to the point where he's STILL considered to be one of the "heroes of the revolution" by the communist Vietnamese government today. Frankly, I don't believe that we should EVER again elect a President who has a history of sympathizing with and abetting communism such as he and our last President did.

That aside, however, John Kerry is a proven liar, which is a matter of public record. The Congressional Record contains a speech he made in 1987 in which he repeated the claim from his 1st book "The New Soldier" that he spent Christmas eve of 1968 five miles inside Cambodia being shot at by the Khmer Rouge, the VC and South Vietnamese who were engaged in drunken celebrations of Christmas at a time when the President [Nixon] was telling the American people that we were NOT in Cambodia, and that the experience was "seared into my memory." The only problem is, he was never IN Cambodia, not even his Swiftboat pals who are supporting him can remember ever being there, President Nixon wasn't President on Christmas of 1968 (he was sworn in on January 20, 1969), the Khmer Rouge weren't organized by Pol Pot until long AFTER Kerry had left both Vietnam AND active duty service, and it's not very likely that the South Vietnamese were "celebrating Christmas" since a fairly large percentage of them were Buddhists--not Christians- -though, to be charitable, there were SOME Christian Vietnamese at that time; usually Catholics.

Finally, Senator Kerry has a singularly undistinguished career in the Senate. In 20 years there, not a single bill of any significance bears his name--not in 20 YEARS! That's almost impossible to DO--even for lightweights like both Kerry AND Edwards (who hasn't sponsored any significant legislation either.) Former GOP Whip, Dick Armey has recently said that in his 8 years as whip, he was not once contacted by EITHER Kerry or Edwards to schedule any legislation for hearing--something that's almost unheard of since the majority House whip is solely responsible for bringing legislation from both houses to the House floor for debate and vote.

So how is it that these two undistinguished Senators are even still in the running for the Presidency? The ONLY reasonable explanation is the virulent hatred directed towards President Bush from the left--which IS the base of the Democrat Party these days. In fact, it's the FAR radical left that comprises most of that base. These people hate President Bush with a purple passion unequalled in recent memory. Even the right's antipathy towards former President Clinton was pale by comparison. Why do they hate this man so? I believe that it's because the Democrats tried to portray George W. Bush as an intellectual lightweight, an inarticulate buffoon, and a dilletante, born with a silver spoon in his mouth with no real connection to the average American....yet, he beat their pants off in 2000 by concentrating his election efforts in securing the necessary ELECTORAL votes instead of running a popularity contest. The left-wing of American politics has been slipping into irrelevancy since at least the 1994 Congressional elections and they literally HATE that a man they consider to be their intellectual inferior seems to outsmart them at every turn. They explain it away as being a creature of Carl Rove or VP Cheney, but the truth is that President Bush is at LEAST these peoples' intellectual equal--if not their superior. He's not glib and he's seldom terribly articulate, but he has a clear, unwavering vision of a better, safer America.

Look for the Democrats to pull out all the stops in trying to fraudulently elect John Kerry next month. They'll do this by trying to register and vote legions of ineligible voters such as aliens, both legal and illegal, convicted felons, buying off the homeless again to vote in several precincts in the same cities and even voting the cemeteries once more in places like Chicago, Baltimore and New Orleans. What they can't legitimately win, they'll do whatever they can to steal, so don't be surprised if this is another close one. On the other hand, an Ivy League professor, whose name escapes me for the moment, using what he calls "econometrics" has predicted that President Bush will win in a relative landslide of over 57% of the popular vote and carry all but two States. One can only hope.
