Mattson Technology Scores Another RTP Win in Taiwan

Adds New 300 mm DRAM Customer for Advanced RTP Systems

FREMONT, Calif., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mattson Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: MTSN - News), a leading supplier of advanced process equipment used to manufacture semiconductors, today announced that it has added a new customer, a leading DRAM manufacturer in Taiwan, for its advanced 3000 series RTP systems. The systems, which are scheduled to begin shipment by the end of the third quarter 2003, will be used in the chipmaker's existing 300 mm fab located in Hsin Chu, Taiwan in the production of advanced DRAM devices at the 110 nm technology node.

"This latest order places our RTP tools into a fab line where 100% of the customer's RTP requirements was previously supplied by a competitor," said David L.
