Betty -- <<William Safire: you forgot to mention that he calls Hillary Clinton a congenital liar.>> I b'leeve someone else already mentioned that; maybe it was on a different thread. But he calls lots of people lots of things. I don't necessarily disagree with him. He tends to be more pointed and better informed than any other columnist/observer. He was a staunch supporter of Nixon, and was hammered by many of his cohorts after the truth came out. Since that time, he has become more careful in his sources, I think. He also has a wry, dry, sly sense of humor.
