donald,
what software do you use for your anlaysis? it sounds like you can customize it and test based on history. this sounds very ineresting. i go by my gut feel about the direction of the market for short term trades. most of the time i enter into the trades too early and would like to use some real tools to increase the profits on my trades.

for example, i have been expecting a significant pullback in all indexes for the last month. other than recent weakness in technology, this just hasn't materailized. i have increased my shorts to about 50% of holdings, cash at 10% and long 40%. i have sold calls against all long holdings and am waiting( sometimes not so patiently) for the inevitble. cpq should really open some eyes on monday. there will be plenty more earnings surprises to come. i see our first substantial back to back down days for most indexes on mon and tues. this market is so euphoric that we may bounce from there, but i think this run has finally run out of steam and we may sell off for most of the week. thats about as technical as i can i get when i go by my gut feelings.

this market is crazy and may head up further after a few down days but i have been saying to any friend or family member thet would listen, that i felt we would set the annual high in the first week of march. time will tell.
