ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE ?!!?!
ALL, check out novell.com for all the details.
September 9, 1996
Dear Mr. Gates,
Lately we at Novell have noticed conflicting information coming from Microsoft about directory services: what they are, how they work, what pieces are available when. We also noticed that you recently changed the name of Microsoft NT Domain Naming Service, making it appear as if your product is a full directory service.
Customers need solutions today, not vague promises. No more talk. Consider yourself invited-or better yet, challenged-to settle the score on the directory services ... in the boxing ring.
The venue is NetWorld+Interop in Atlanta. The date is September 18, 1996. And the time is 10:15 a.m., right after the keynote address. Novell Directory Services will stand toe-to-toe and glove-to-glove against Microsoft NT Directory Service.
To ensure a fair fight, we've taken the liberty of arranging for an independent third-party judge for the match. The judge will guarantee that no punches are thrown below the belt. We'll test how each of the products-ours and yours-manage the daily tasks performed on heterogeneous networks today. We're confident that Novell Directory Services is up to the challenge and are curious to see how long Microsoft NT Directory Service will last.
So, if you feel up to the challenge, we look forward to meeting you in the ring. We'll certainly be there, ready and able, to show what a true directory service is all about.
Don't forget: September 18, 1996 at 10:15 a.m. right after the NetWorld+Interop keynote address. The rules of this match are posted on www.novell.com/challenge. And by the way, bring an ice pack.
