CJ: AOL was a great marketing job in the stock market as well as in the ISP arena. At the end of the day this recent transaction will demonstrate the overvaluation of most if not all AOL like stocks. Case has volunteered to in essence become the ISP division of a slower growing media conglomerate. The recent action of the share price is indicative of this fundamental weakness of the business model. I hope MSFT is in discussions with ATT for the purposes of beefing up its access to large pipes and for further improving the positioning of their software in the internet infrastucture. The media side will be no more or less profitable than other media companies have been in the past. I am sure MSFT is interested in an arrangement whereby the end result benefits their high margin software business rather than becoming a quasi-media company.JFD
