SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NeoMagic Corporation (Nasdaq: NMGC - News), a pioneer in Applications Processors for multimedia-rich mobile phones, wireless PDAs and other mobile handheld systems, today announced that Neonode Corporation has selected the MiMagic 3 Applications Processor to power the multimedia capability in its N1 mobile multimedia handset. The N1 is a low-cost handset that is designed to provide imaging-intensive applications including digital camera, multimedia messaging service (MMS) and mobile gaming, along with cellular phone functionality. The N1 is targeted at the "digital-entertainment generation" -- ages 15-25 -- who are instrumental in driving demand for increasingly sophisticated multimedia functionality on affordable mobile handheld devices.

The MiMagic 3 is an ARM-based Applications Processor purpose-built to provide a cost-effective solution for consumer applications that require advanced multimedia capabilities. The MiMagic 3 achieves high performance and low power through architectural innovations including two independent memory buses which provide separate interfaces for simultaneous access to program and data storage; dynamic CPU and peripheral clock switching; an internal frame-buffer for display refresh without external memory access and multiple power down modes. All of these features combine to provide higher performance with longer battery life at a lower cost.
