Attention Business Editors:
Tyhee updates drill program, bulk sample and ongoing activities at its Yellowknife Gold Project TSX Venture: TDC
VANCOUVER, March 20 /CNW/ - Tyhee Development Corp. (TSX Venture, TDC) today announced it has completed its program to crush half of its 6,800 tonnes stockpile from the underground campaign on the Ormsby Zone, Yellowknife Gold Project, Northwest Territories, Canada. Large scale duplicate belt samples collected during the crushing totaled approximately 10 tonnes. These samples will be shipped to a test facility later this month for further analysis. The results of such testing will be incorporated into ongoing engineering studies. Tyhee's fully winterized camp is operating with 42 personnel active on site and involved in drilling, sampling, rock crushing, contract laboratory operation, winter road maintenance and logistical support. The first four diamond drillholes from the Typhoon Zone, initially identified in 2006, are reported as are an additional 12 diamond drillholes from the Ormsby Zone. All fuel and bulk supplies have again been successfully mobilized to the property by winter road this year.
Dave Webb, President and CEO of Tyhee commented, "We are very pleased to have accomplished the resupply of our camp by winter road again this year. This critical restocking of supplies ensures a continued low operating cost for the balance of the year at our gold project in the Yellowknife Gold Camp." "The crushing of our stockpiled sample from the underground program on the Ormsby Zone will provide confirmation of grade estimates and will be used to confirm metallurgical recoveries. Other engineering parameters established from this test work will enable a better design of crushing, grinding, and recovery circuits as well as improving our understanding of the tailings composition."
"The relocation of the historic diamond drill core from Nicholas Lake to our current camp will allow our team to resample this core more efficiently and in a better controlled environment to evaluate the bulk mineable potential of the Nicholas Lake Main Zone."
"Recent diamond drilling results on the Ormsby Zone include some step-outs down dip of known mineralization and infill where there were gaps in the mineralization due to lack of sampling. The drilling on the Typhoon Zone has identified it as prospective and further work will be needed to determine whether it has any higher-grade potential."
Diamond Drilling
An additional 12 drillholes are reported from the Ormsby Zone, all returning gold values over widths up to 7.5 metres. Significant intersections include 14.17 grams per tonne (gpt) gold over 2.2 metres in NDM411, 3.25 gpt gold over 7.2 metres in NDM414, and 14.99 gpt over 1.5 metres in NDM415.
Four diamond drillholes were completed on the recently discovered Typhoon Zone. TYP002 intersected 1.44 grams of gold per tonne over 1.4 metres. The other drillholes returned only anomalous values over narrow intervals.

Diamond drillholes TYP001, TYP003 and TYP004 intersected narrow values up to 0.356 gpt. True widths are estimated to be 70% to 85% reported width. >>
Two diamond drill rigs have been relocated to the Nicholas Lake Main Zone where they will be operating for the next 4 to 6 weeks to expand the established resource and provide geotechnical information for ongoing engineering work. Additionally, approximately 75% of the historic Nicholas Lake Main Zone diamond drill core has now been relocated to Tyhee's camp for resampling. The balance of the historic drill core will be moved this month.
Drill cores are sawn along their entire length, with one half of the core submitted for analysis and the other half retained on site for archival purposes. Samples are submitted to Acme Analytical Laboratory, Vancouver, Canada for preparation and analysis. Blank samples, duplicate samples (riffled splits of coarse crush) and repeat analyses are conducted in addition to analyses of gold standard samples. All samples are analyzed by fire assay techniques on 30 gram aliquots with ICP-ES finish.
