Dear Threaders,

In an earlier post, I directed your attention to the interview of Bernie Landes in "Natural Business." One comment I found of particular interest:

Also, Andrographis paniculata fits into our plans. It is a traditional remedy for cold and flu in China, and Denmark has some popular cold and flu products based on andrographalide. We want to make use of that work.

Once upon a time a little outfit, The Quigley Company, took to market a zinc lozenge with the name Cold-Eze. Its stock soared.

Colds are an annoyance. But the flu is debilitating, and can kill.

The scientific evidence for the efficacy of Cold-Eze was a single short study in one American city (and some wondered whether this showed only that it was effective against the strain of the rhinovirus that affected that city). We have vastly more data about Andrographalide.

Imagine "Flu-Eze" (I wonder if that name has been trademarked), licensed by Paracelsian, marketed by Nature's Way, certified as BioF.I.T.

Just ruminating . . ..

Jonathan
