I dont know if any of you have been following Tandem Resources
TDM-M presently at $0.85. Tandem's 87kg sample (which contained 1790 rubies and 3 micro diamonds)of which 40 rubies were macros. The small sample represented a 50-foot section from 365 - 415 feet in one hole while the other sample represented 77 feet from 213 feet to 290 feet in the other hole(The distance between the 2 holes was 300ft). Drilling began 12 days ago on the company's project in Ontario. A 20-tonne sample will be extracted from the G-1 discovery pipe, while another drill will investigate 8 other possible kimberlite targets.
Under an agreement with Homestake Mining, Tandem has the right to earn an 80% interest in the Guibord property by spending $2.0 million by the year 2000.

A report by Warren Boyd, a noted gemologist, on the initial ruby samples stated that the rubies were of very good color saturation and could be described as an intense purplish red color.
The presence of rubies within a kimberlite pipe is without precedent in Canada and, according to Warren Boyd. He adds, "...a rock fragment associated with one of the rubies, plus associated minerals, indicates that the rubies were derived from the mantle or upper mantle stability field and hence, are probably not included as xenaliths during the kimberlite emplacement". In other words, the source of the rubies is deep-seated and not associated with a surface condition. has never been reported anywhere.
