This really has nothing to do with having "tailings disposal sites"....unless you want to have that site inside of a lake. This is a test case for both sides on a brand new definition for tailings that has the environmentalist paranoid about the precedent - most don't care about Kensington (cause it does make sense there)....it's the mega-mines like Pebble that has them going nuts....

It's likely to be overturned on appeal - hopefully that is the direction Coeur takes....but it sure sets them back a few notches on the timeline. But they already have permits for the traditional tailings disposal method - they are just wanting to avoid that additional expense.
