>>is the good price on 97 because 2000 is on the way? is price important to you? how much will 2000 cost you? are you aware of the changes made to 2000 over and above 97? are they changes you could do without? is there an inexpensive 'upgrade to 2000' offer that might come with 97? are you the type of guy who wants to have the most recent version of everything? just some suggestions on questions you should be asking yourself.<<
mark,
actually, these are all the questions I had implied with MY question. I have only until 3pm Pacific time to decide. I was hoping someone knew all these various nuances and could point me the right way. I figure the 97 version and price aren't going anywhere, so I might as well cancel and see what happens, since I probably won't get around to using it 'til y2k anyway <g>. Not only that, but seems like any time you cancel an order, be it ARCA, Schwab, or on-line shopping, good things happen...
BTW, YES price is important! No way am I paying $400 for a CD. (Now that I think about it $135 seems a little steep!) The guy at Multiwave didn't know/wouldn't say how much the 2000 version would be. I figure it's going to be the same price. Don't know about the inexpensive upgrade -- I'd seen them offered in some places but not with this deal. Maybe I'd be better off with the older version since it will be less buggy? Base on the differences between W95 and W98, I guess I might want to take a gamble on O2000. Seems kind of a shame to buy O97 2 weeks before the new version is released.
Maybe I can hunt up some previews of the 2000 version.
Thanks for the help mark, you helped me reason this a little farther down the road,
