Compaq Deskpro users can now customize their systems with four optical drive options: the Compaq DVD-ROM drive and MPEG-2 decoder, a 2X/2X/6X CD-RW drive, a CAV 32X Max CD-ROM drive, and Compaq's branded Slimline 24X Max CD-ROM drive. The DVD-ROM drive with decoder and CD-RW drive each add $399 to the basic PC price, while the 32X CD-ROM drive is priced at $138 and the Slimline 24X drive runs for $179.
