It's a neat idea, but the only advantage I could imagine for AMD to buy TMTA would be to keep Intel from using the technology IF it really does speed up the development process.

TMTA would have to get a lot cheaper (or atleast AMD stock would have to get a much higher price without TMTA moving up) for AMD to seriously consider buying TMTA unless they thought the benefit was enormous. If it was that enormous Intel might bight TMTA just to block AMD, but I don't think its that huge of deal, so I don't think a a buyout is going to happen soon.
