My experience has been mixed. I originally got into ABTX because of them, and it has done wonderfully (although the first 6-8 months was quite painful-down about 50% from their original recommendation). I also was quite successful on TBR.
I've also had some serious duds. Remember Quality Products, Ivax? Now, I rarely buy their recommendations, although I do enjoy the writeups.
One thing about BI that I don't like, and that is perhaps a bit too much hyping a stock once it's been picked. For example, Mitcham was a great pick, but I was really shocked to see BI still hyping it when the rest of the O&G industry was tanking. Having lived through the last brutal downturn in the industry, perhaps I'm too sensitive, but I thought continuing to hype while the world was falling down around the company was irresponsible. But, everyone makes their own decisions.
Anyhow, I continue to subscribe and read, but rarely follow through on its recommendations.
