(Nasdaq: CREAF) today announced its award-winning PC-DVD Encore Dxr2 will be available as an upgrade option in Compaq's Deskpro EP and EN line of commercial desktop PCs. Creative's PC-DVD Encore Dxr2 provides customers with a complete hardware and software solution to utilize the power of DVD technology on their existing PCs.
The PC-DVD Encore Dxr2 includes Creative's PC-DVD ROM drive, which is fully compatible with all CD-ROM formats, and the Dxr2 card which delivers cinema-quality DVD to the desktop. This solution, the company's second-generation PC-DVD drive, has been optimized for Compaq Deskpro PCs as the Compaq DVD-ROM Drive and Decoder(1). Now, Compaq customers can take advantage of the massive storage apabilities offered by PC-DVD and access up to 17 gigabytes of data.
