By characterizing the press coverage as "leaks," Ballmer confirms, to some extent, that they reflect what is going on (which he undoubtedly knows via the settlement discussions). More neutral comments might have been "no comment" or "the press is purely speculating about the nature of the talks, which are secret." JMHO, of course.
