No it is not a coincidence. It is a result of Gilder Gagnon and Howe's close allegiance to my paradigm. I discussed Avanex in earlier GTRs. I visited Gilder Gagnon during a New York trip about two months ago; I probably mentioned Avanex then, though my current enthusiasm developed over the subsequent months. I have no money invested with Gilder, or any family connection whatsoever. But David Howe has come to all our telecosm conferences and Richard Gilder is an ally on supply side economics. He also shares my father's name and my son's name. Life is like that. A sociologist expounded the theory of six degrees of separation: six links can interconnect any two people on earth. I have several links with Gilder Gagnon but absolutely no financial connection to this excellent company.
