AMI (France) sets aside $150m for India

BANGALORE 5 FEBRUARY

THE current economic meltdown in south-east Asia has prompted French infrastructure financing major AMI Advisory Private Ltd to look
''more emphatically towards India.'' The company has earmarked one-third of its $450-million corpus for investments in India.

AMI is going in for a secondary replacement to add $300 million to its existing corpus of $150 million. The fund is close-ended and will expire by 2012.

''We will invest around $150 million in various infrastructure projects in India,'' said Mr Francois Bergere, deputy managing director of AMI. The company will invest a minimum of $10 million to any project that it undertakes, Mr Bergere said. ........
