As for the GOP and taxes, we know there is a public philosophy involved. Certainly not all there is. And more than a little self and corporate interest.

But there is the limited government philosophy, including reducing if not eliminating most regulations and most safety net protections. I find that an extremely objectionable public philosophy, but it is such.
