Shalom, several people here have pointed out the utter pointlessness of comparing American gun statistics from the 1960's and today, so I don't feel the need to restate them. On what Jesus' position would most likely be, my perception of his message is that it was one of nonviolence. Remember "thou shalt not kill?" I would think he would be utterly dismayed that children are killing each other with assault weapons over grudges that children in earlier decades in America outgrew because they didn't have the same access to assault weapons that they do today. If you are implying that he would have another position on this issue, I suspect that I think more of him than you do, which is certainly a strange position for me to be in, since he is more your guy than he is mine. I do, however, respect his teachings. Do you?
