So you will feel more comfortable, I found a Fox News article on retail sales. Even so, I don't think the article is an imagining but rather is based on real facts. It says retail sales fell in December from November. However they were up YoY but at a much lower rate than was seen for the rest of 2007: RAW DATA: Retail Sales Fall in December; Consumers Retreat to Basics foxbusiness.com Sorry this is a MSM article but I think the info its reporting is accurate: "In a separate release on Tuesday, the International Council of Shopping Centers reported that chain-store sales fell 0.9% in the most recent week, with sales up just 1.1% over the past year for store open at least a year. "Retailers expect a tough January following a similarly tough December," said Michael Niemira, ICSC's chief economist." marketwatch.com
