Fwiw thanks.

There are two things of significance.

One is the amount of Irag spin being fed us daily by the press, on purpose or just as a natural part of the show. Literally unbelievable. I tend to think it is bad fall out from Vietnam. All the reporters now going to be good little patriots, and not put any negative spin on anything.

Two is how many citizens believe this shit and a corollary to that one is how many who don't believe it yet are totally ambivalent.

Wait a year or two, or if we are lucky even less. We may have an era to go through that will make the Vietnam era seem like a cake walk.

We are going to get our ass whipped in Irag before it is over. Like it or not. We probably spend several million dollars or so for each Iragi we kill. They probably spend 10 cents for each American they kill. Simple in the end, as our gov't is basically broke. Furthermore our populace is not tolerant of too many Yanks being killed. We are currently the largest debtor nation in the history of this planet (I believe that is right), and it ain't too hard to do a little back of the napkin mathematics.

Greenspan touched upon the problem in his speech today as well. Too bad he can't reach GWB, or maybe GWB and his cronies never learned much about math. I guess Cheney was quoted as saying "Deficits don't matter, Reagan proved that!". Right.
