A European trade paper is reporting that Sony will show the PlayStation 2 at next spring's Tokyo Game Show. October 9, 1998 Sony may make an official announcement about a possible showing of the new system in November – about a week before Sega launches the Dreamcast, according to European trade magazine MCV UK. The machine likely to be shown in some form at the Tokyo Game Show next spring will feature a custom CPU, DVD drive, and a 3D processor capable of pumping 10 million polygons per second. Sony reportedly denies recent rumors that the machine will be backwards compatible with the PlayStation. Still no word on when Sony plans to actually release PlayStation 2.
