Emotions taking over trading

I've found that emotional pressure of any kind interferes with trading. The worst aspect of this usually occurs when a mob mentality develops. Everyone grasps at the simple solution or frankly any solution that will preserve the status quo. Certainly Engeldink is an example of lashing out on this thread. Who can blame him if he suddenly finds himself 10 points poorer and is wondering whether to jump.

When you believe too strongly in the rationale for WHAT EXISTS TODAY and then find out things aren't going the way you thought and are incapable of changing your direction then you get burned.

I got that from Andy Grove.

As you see VK unloaded his INTC at a profit. A smart investor owning INTC would have entry and exit points even as a long.
