I suspect that Q will eventually cut prices on low end models, using a strategy similar to that which was so successful for Intel during the 1990's. Intel put a premium price on its latest high performance microprocessors and at the same time cut prices on low end units, thereby making it more difficult for competitors to generate sufficient cash flow to cover research and development costs for their own higher performing units.

This pricing strategy is possible for firms that dominate a particular market niche.
