I noticed today that the rights were pretty firm in the face of weak underlying share prices. But there should be more on the supply side as these rights show up in brokerage accounts. I don't think this rights offering helped the market at all, and since there's no buyer of last resort, it will take considerable news (announced or not) to push these issues to the point of exercise. The flare mentioned sounds legitimate as acid washing should continue to neutralize the drill mud and allow a flow. Since oil is heavier than gas, it makes sense that gas would flow first. That means we should at least have a gas well, and an oil well is still probable. I see nothing that would cause me to abandon my positions, despite the weakness displayed.
