Robertson Stephens Reiterates Buy Rating on ASDV

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1999--Robertson Stephens Internet eBusiness and Web applications analyst Kash G. Rangan today reiterated his Buy rating on Aspect Development (NASDAQ:ASDV). Aspect Development, headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., is a software, data-content and services company, providing component and supplier-management solutions to manufacturers and MRO catalogs for B2B procurement in manufacturing and services industries.

"We are reiterating our Buy rating on Aspect Development," said Rangan. "Based on recent conversations with company management, we believe InfiniteSupply.com is tracking ahead of expectations for fourth quarter 1999. InfiniteSupply.com is an important part of Aspect's eMarkets segment, complementing its core segments - CSM (Component Supplier Management) and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations)."

"In addition, Aspect recently announced the formation of Manufacturing.net, an eCommerce portal targeted at the MRO buyers, through a 50/50 joint venture with Cahners Business Information," said Rangan. "We believe this strategy combines the content and community strengths of the partners to facilitate eCommerce, somewhat similar to VerticalNet's positioning in the B2B eCommerce space."

"We continue to like the Aspect story, management team and potential B2B infrastructure play," said Rangan. "Aspect's eMarkets is positioned as the content portal for eCommerce and represents a significant and incremental long-term-market opportunity, perhaps as important as the core business itself, in our opinion. Finally, although early, we believe business is tracking for fourth quarter 1999."
