In TRH at the open for a starting position.

Decent report from this insurer ("an absence of significant catastrophe loss activity" always helps -g-):

finance.yahoo.com

Book value's shot up:

"For the full year, operating ROE was 14.3% and book value per common share grew 26%."

For stated bv, that's about $61/sh vs $48 at year-end '08 and $51 for '07.

Stock's about $50 now, so trading below stated bv.
P/e 7. '05 was the only loss year in past ten. With the stock down in '09, the p/e was 6. In past years stock has traded above stated book value and at p/e's of 9 or higher.

TRH has increased its dividend every year for many years ("Dividend Achiever"). It remains though, a puny 1.6%.

I am hoping and betting that the '09's results I see show that the financial crisis that's affected so many companies and stocks is now behind them, and that at some point, the stock will show an improvement from here.
