Mardy: Since you have been sensible and objective (well now and then :-)), curious what you thought of the Ericsson "spokesman's" statement. Granted that language translation might be a problem, but how could an official spokesman for a company in the wireless business itself say that his company is not interested in buying the Q's "wireless" business. This is laughable but perhaps symtomatic of the deep deep problems Ericsson has. The only business the Q is in is "wireless", does he mean that his company in uninterested in buying the Q en toto? What does he mean? Does he understand that only repeat only the handset operation may (or may not) be for sale? What does he understand? Not much apparently.

But worse, what kind of "management" would trot out a "spokesman" with the gatuitous comment that Ericsson ain't interested (in whatever)? Such a statement is counterproductive in the extreme even if well handled. When completely mishandled, and making Ericsson a laughingstock around the world for rejecting what is clearly not being offered for sale is simply an absurdity.

Best, as always.

Chaz

PS And frankly, if this is management's attitude - a gratuitous rejection of what is not offered by the Q - how could anyone in his right mind think Ericsson is to be trusted to sell CDMA infrastucture or anything else which is CDMA related?
