Of course it's your choice to join in or abstain alanrs. I'm not an American citizen so I'm probably less entitled to comment on the past history of the USA. If I had to guess, I'd say that the actions of the Plains Indians were more in tune with ongoing survival with the full knowledge that if they destroyed everything in sight then that would be the end of their existence. But when others moved in and hunted for purely commercial purposes, and what they killed was not essential for their future survival and existence, then that made a difference with regard to the motives of either party.
