Thursday Night's SXSW results...turned into a Austin Guitar Slinger night..with one exception

started off out on Congress avenue out in front of the Continental Club for Chris Stamey, a founding member of the dbs...the line inched along as one could only enter as one left. The view through the door was perfecto...sounded great

Over to Steamboat to hunker down for the remainder of the night

Guy Forsythe..bluesy ..harmonica, guitar..always a great live show

Chris Duarte--Best live guitarist on the planet. Most of the crowd was there to see Eric in the slot following Chris...the place was PACKED. Nothing more enjoyable than seeing Chris Duarte unleashed on an unsuspecting audience...nobody left unscathed

Eric Johnson--played several tunes off of his debut CD "Tones"..I haven't heard those tunes live since the early 90s. Clad in denim he even busted out a new country instrumental..of course it rocked<g>..Eric's current band calls itself "Alien Love Child"..Chris Marsh on Bass..master of all genres

Soulhat..killer band. Kevin Kinney remarked that he grew up worshipping Eric Johnson and didn't think it was fair he had to follow him on the bill
"Isn't it good to be gone"

Quite possibly the perfect evening, musically

Life is good....my ears are ringing....ahhhhh
