Thanx very much for your informative response. I didn't realize the degree of Intels' economies of scale. If I were Sun or Dec I would be quaking in my boots. It sounds like HP, however, is covering their tracks.

Where does IBM fit into this equation? Do you know what chip they use in their UNIX systems? I cannot believe they are counting on the PowerPC.
