If we did away with the Peace Corps and other lame programs that provide aid to countries who are simply corrupt, we could cut back nicely on taxes. Add to that nonsense programs that for a fortune teach drug dealers how to balance a check book and other similar wasted programs that are designed to pay off ward bosses with jobs and influence we could face problems without raising taxes. I also believe these cities that run on state and federal money allow state and country wide ballots for their city administration.
