The Havana Republic Lands Prestigious Appointment to Sell Rare Davidoff Cigars;

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1998--The Havana
Republic, Inc. (OTC BB: HVAR) announced today they have been granted
one of only 92 appointments in the United States for an authorized
retail outlet for DAVIDOFF cigars and accessories.
The Havana Republic's first shipment of the rare DAVIDOFF cigars
arrived on July 8th and cigar aficionados have been buying at a very
brisk pace. The DAVIDOFF appointment further solidifies the image that
The Havana Republic is "the place" to find the world's finest cigars.
DAVIDOFF cigars have long been considered the most difficult to
find premium cigars in the industry. The Havana Republic's
appointment, after lengthy and thorough consideration by DAVIDOFF, is
a significant sign that The Havana Republic is recognized as a premier
tobacconist in the U.S.
PLANNED GROWTH
The Havana Republic's newest Las Olas Riverfront location opened
on June 30th to large crowds and much higher than expected sales.
Given the fact much of the mall is yet to be completed and that Havana
Republic has yet to have its grand opening or advertise this new
location, the first year projection of $2.5 Million for this location
appears to be well within reach.
The Company's Shops at Sunset location is currently on target for
construction to begin in early September, with a scheduled grand
opening planned for Dec. 4th of this year. The finished project will
be the Company's largest emporium to date and will feature a full bar.
Negotiations are also underway with three additional projects
similar to those at the Las Olas and Shops at Sunset locations.
NATIONAL EXPOSURE
The Havana Republic also announced today the Company will be
showcased on Ed Taxin's "Financial Hour" and Michael Jackson's
"Investing in America" programs in the near future.
These nationally recognized investment forums are aired on both
radio and television, and are available to over 100 millions viewers
and listeners each week. Michael Jackson has had many prominent guests
on his show including Presidents Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon,
entertainer Bob Hope and news legend Walter Cronkite. Ed Taxin is
renowned for his unique ability to find the "undiscovered gems" in the
stock market.
