One can argue anything. That's what politics is. Say one thing to get the vote and do another once in power, then use bias conformation and fear, in echo chambers to cover your tracks.

Entire media machines have been built by both the right and the left to make sure the bias conformation is reinforced daily if not hourly.

That way you keep your base of voters blind to the fact you didn't do what you said you were going to do.

Republicans beat on the limited government drum, but once in office they spend as much or more than Democrats do. How is that limited government?
