I have also bought some downtrodden stocks in Germany. It seems that there are similar tax rules which resemble what you know from the US. One of these stocks, FJH is decently up today after it hit a yearlow on Dec 30. also AIX Aixtron is up some 8% on good volume, unfortunately i missed aixtron. The EUR is way down, seems that this also helps the german stocks; indices are up between 1 and 2%
