The midwest, and especially Chicago are the center of "old econ" industrial toolmaking, which is probably why the CPM was considered important in the first place. #s like that make one wonder why the NYA and DJIA have held up so well. Mindless sector rotation? Sooner or later we'll run out of sectors, as more and more get taken to the woodshed like an ever tightening spiral that finally disappears up it's own alimentary aperture.
