The way I understand it is that Market Makers can sell short at any price and can do it without any shares. This is referred to as naked short selling or undeclared short selling. The mm's can pull shares out of the air and short, creating more shares out there then there really are supposed to be. They can keep shorting and keep shorting....often the agenda for short selling can be other then just making money, check out usbr ccww and funtu. These mm's were out to get the firm behind these companies.

Matt

P.S. One option for us is to take the shares off the street by requesting delivery of the stock certificates. This would decrease the float and only help us in the long run. I don't know if this could prevent what is happening above(if it is happening), but it may be worth it. Hot Stocks recommends all investors to do this to stocks they recommmend. What do you all think?
