I haven't studied Willke's platform, so I don't know how he would have handled WWII, but I have a feeling he probably wouldn't have been as "creative" in coming up with things like "lend lease" that allowed Britain to hang on alone against the Germans for so long. Just Roosevelt's "initial" ideas, like FDIC (which is still a pillar of our banking system today), made him an exceptional person for extraordinary times.
