I'm not Mohan, but I did make the post. As I said, I think it shows independent resolve on the part of the Indian government. They knew how this would be viewed by the international community before they proceeded with the tests. They went ahead anyway. I believe that it is good that they have shown a willingness to consider their own interests instead of world public opinion as I do not believe that conforming to the pressures of the 'world' community makes for real stability. Their display should lessen the certainty of India's response to any number of aggressive actions that other nations might take. This is actually good for stability, IMO.
