How does one come to be ideologically opposed? ... But some people develop their ideologies as a result of wisdom collected during a lifetime. Doesn't matter. When it has anything to do with giving more power to government the libertarians are going to automatically refuse. They are a fringe group and that is the center of their philosophy... it's like asking a fundamental Christian to abandon Christ.
